About

Greetings and grace to you!

Welcome to the blog portion of my internet “hub” (deatonhub.com).

Here you’ll eventually find my thoughts on a wide range of topics.

My blog theme is “something to cerebrate,” not, “something to debate.”  Thus, for now, I’m wavering back and forth on allowing comments.

For those who don’t know me:

Personal Bio

I spent my childhood years in the village of New Lothrop, Michigan.  When I was 13, my dad became a minister and our family moved to Flushing, Michigan for his first pastoral assignment.  I am married to Robin and have two adult children, Chelsie and Landon.  My interests include writing and riding (bicylce).

“Professional” Bio

I am an ordained elder in the Church of the Nazarene.  In Feb. 2000, I moved here (Kenosha, Wisconsin) to plant a new church.  I’m still here, pastoring what became Kenosha Family Church.

Prior to this, I pastored three other churches:

  • Huron Shores Church of the Nazarene, Oscoda, Michigan.
  • New Beginnings Church of the Nazarene, Alpena, Michigan.
  • Sumner Center Church of the Nazarene, Sumner, Michigan.

I am a graduate of both Nazarene Theological Seminary (M. Div.) and Olivet Nazarene University (B.A. in Religion & Philosophy, minor in Biblical Literature).
